The area of the North Carolina called the Sandhills is a region known for horses, golf, long leaf pines and sandy soil. Sandhills towns are located in Moore, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Robeson and Cumberland Counties. Each county has unique destinations that attract visitors each year.
The largest city in the region is Fayetteville, known as a military city and voted an “All American City” for its patriotic lifestyle. Museums and memorial tributes are numerous. The Airborne and Special Operations Museums, and the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex educate visitors.
